DELTA BURKE didn't just compete, she WON & WAS MISS FLORIDA. SHE WAS THE YOUNGEST CONTESTANT TO WIN MISS FLORIDA. That's how she made it as a contestant at the Miss America Pageant (A HUGE HONOR). The Fact that she even made it to Miss America Pageant makes her a 'winner'.
